The New Century Hotel Amsterdam Osdorp is a hotel complex that comprises of hotel rooms, restaurants and a wide range parking garage. As time stands at the moment its exclusive main marketing audience is clientele of Chinese origination, including approved main business undertakings in and around Amsterdam. Phase 1 of the project has been realized and is already operational. That phase has been designed by Breebaart Korver Architecten. Phase 2 is a design by A&E Architecten.
The design for phase 2 is characterized by a sturdy volume topped off by a floating roof structure, a connecting element between phase one and two, and a parking garage. There are a total of approximately 450 rooms in the complex, restaurants on the ground floor and a spa/wellness in the basement. The façade design has a staggered vertical articulation, consisting of the same bricks as phase 1. This relief has also been applied to the parking garage. This reoccurring façade language results is an ensemble of the buildings on site. The central hall is the heart of the ensemble and serves as the entrance to the hotel, being accessible from two sides.
